BESTOWE ROOFTOP ANCHOR POINT FOR FERNCROFT ENTERPRISES LTD

THE CHALLENGE

Ferncroft Enterprises Ltd required a permanent, certified anchor point on a busy City of London rooftop to facilitate safe access for cleaning a six to seven floor riser. The solution needed to be fully compliant with BS 7883:2019, installed without hot works or invasive drilling into the primary structure, and delivered with full LOLER certification.

THE SOLUTION

iRope Access provided a complete turnkey package. Following a detailed site survey, the solution incorporated a bespoke galvanised steel beam, precisely fabricated and drilled to specification by MAH Steel. The beam was designed specifically for this application and delivered ready for installation.

The beam was secured to the existing rooftop steelwork using a high-strength Lindapter clamping system.

This approach was selected to preserve the integrity of the existing structure by avoiding welding or drilling into the primary steelwork. It allowed for a fast and safe installation without the need for hot work permits, fully aligning with the site’s safety requirements. The Lindapter system also provided the certified load capacity and independent approvals required for a life-safety anchorage system.

Once installed, the anchor point system was load tested in accordance with BS 7883:2019, and a full LOLER certificate was issued upon successful completion.

THE RESULT

Ferncroft Enterprises Ltd received a fully compliant, ready-to-use anchor point system installed safely and efficiently. The combination of a bespoke MAH Steel beam and engineered Lindapter connections delivered a robust, non-invasive solution, providing long-term reliability and complete confidence for operatives working at height.
