Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about rope access and our services.

Rope access is a work-at-height technique that uses ropes, harnesses and specialist safety equipment to reach difficult-to-access locations such as building facades, towers, silos and elevated structures. It enables a wide range of services including cleaning, painting, waterproofing and maintenance without the need for scaffolding or powered access platforms, resulting in lower cost, faster completion and less visual impact.
Yes, extremely safe when carried out by certified professionals. All our technicians hold current IRATA qualifications, we use redundant safety systems (two independent anchor points), equipment certified to EN standards and follow rigorous safety protocols. Our track record is zero serious incidents.
The key regulations and standards are: the Work at Height Regulations 2005, which set out duties for work at height; IRATA International Code of Practice for industrial rope access; BS 7985, the Code of Practice for the use of rope access methods; and FASET guidelines for fall arrest and safety equipment training. We comply fully with all of these.
Rope access offers numerous advantages: significantly lower cost (up to 60% more economical), much faster set-up, less visual impact on the building, access to locations impossible for scaffolding, no obstruction of pavements or public highways, greater flexibility of movement and shorter overall project duration.
The timescale varies depending on the complexity, scale and type of service. A facade clean on a 10-storey building might take 3 to 7 working days. After the technical survey, we provide a detailed programme with defined timescales. We work efficiently without compromising safety.

In most cases, no. One of the great advantages of rope access is that it causes minimal disruption to building activities. Occupants can carry on with their normal routines. Where any special precautions are needed, we communicate this in advance.
For safety reasons, we do not carry out work at height during rain, high winds (above 25 mph / 40 km/h) or electrical storms. We continuously monitor weather conditions and reschedule activities when necessary, at no additional cost to the client.
All rope access is work at height, but not all work at height is rope access. Rope access is a specific technique that uses ropes and climbing equipment as the means of access. Work at height is the general term for any activity carried out at a level from which a person could be injured by a fall, which may include the use of scaffolding, platforms, ladders, and other methods.
We guarantee quality through: experienced IRATA-certified technicians, use of premium materials and equipment, constant technical supervision, strict compliance with all standards, photographic before-and-after reporting, and a workmanship guarantee appropriate to the type of work carried out.
Yes, we provide full invoicing for all services rendered. We are a fully registered company with all necessary licences and certifications for the provision of rope access services in the UK.
